Shaun Rankin is a name that has been synonymous with exceptional culinary experiences for years. As the Chef-Patron for the Michelin-starred restaurant Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall, Shaun has been responsible for creating innovative cuisine that inspires guests to return time and time again.
Coming back to his Yorkshire roots, Shaun joined the team at Grantley Hall in 2017; a beautifully restored Grade II* listed Palladian mansion in the heart of the North Yorkshire countryside and the home to Shaun’s eponymous MICHELIN-Starred fine dining restaurant, Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall.
The restaurant showcases locally grown and sourced ingredients, taking advantage of the herbs and vegetables grown in the hotel’s very own Kitchen Garden. Using only the best raw ingredients from hand-picked suppliers within a 30-mile radius, the restaurant offers quality meat from nearby farms, specialty cheeses from across the county and fresh seafood from the nearby Yorkshire coast.
Shaun has created the Taste of Home menu which takes inspiration from his past and his childhood memories growing up in Yorkshire. Taste of Home was developed around coming back home to Yorkshire but also a celebration of the fantastic ingredients that the county has to offer – from the most amazing seafood on the Yorkshire coast, to Yorkshire forced rhubarb. Each dish is based around the flavours of the ingredients, taking a traditional or nostalgic dish and using the finest ingredients with new techniques to elevate the dish.
